The Great Pyramid covers an area equivalent to 12 football fields

In order to complete construction of the Great Pyramid within the time described in historical records, one block had to be placed every six minutes. It took twenty years to build and has about 2 million blocks of stone. Rather than slave labour, it is believed that Egyptians were the main work force, trading taxes owed for a set time working at Giza
