I was an avid backpacker in earlier days and loved the feeling of being solo in some far off wilderness. The height of most of those experiences was the night sky and the vast, horizon to horizon expanse of the stars and planets(unseen in a town or city) that seemed to draw me off the ground and into their midst. The fiery artillery of a meteor was always a “take your breath away” accent mark to those visuals.
I remember well the one summer night I snuggled in a sleeping bag in my back yard and stayed awake all night just to watch the numerous meteor showers that raged through the sky…it was an evening of bliss.
I do love our celestial visitors!
Thanks for reminding me! Hopefully I’ll be camping somehwere that there’s a lovely view of these.
I love the showers. Think of what they were like before the air got muddied though.>KB
