Vancouver Still Life

While I worked nine days straight, my husband was out photographing Vancouver at night.

  1. Lovely, specially that first shot!

It’s hard capturing the full range of light in an image such as that.

Our eyes have a wider range than film or digital. And that light on the left wants to overpower the shadows on the right. Not sure what kind of image software he might have but he might want to look at whatever program he uses for the adjustment called ‘levels’. The Mac includes a way to adjust levels even in it’s most basic image handling so it might not be a case of having to purchase anything. All it does is skew the screen so that black is black and white is white and everything else is gray in between.

Then again — sometimes we just want it to be the way it is. And that’s great too.
