Shopping in Mexico City is divided into distinct districts. Plastic bags? Go to the plastic bag street. Likewise furniture, school supplies, auto parts etc. Dresses hail from the wedding street – it was amazing 🙂
It is the same in much of Asia. I never understood why competitors would make it easy for shoppers to compare. But I figured out that it just makes more sense because the suppliers of raw materials only need to push their carts within one are and it does make life easier for the buyer. Love it.
I’ve seen this in many cities but not as finely tuned as Mexico City. I mean 6 blocks selling nothing but plastic bags, then 2 dedicated to cameras followed by 4 hawking pet supplies, and on and on and on. Very quickly it made sense in a city so large.
I couldn’t agree more – absolutely love that photo. Wish the pic showed carefree candy floss tufts released to the wind as cotton candy vendor played with the girl.
Love the dresses. A symbol of confidence in our future.

The first shot is just awesome.
